I arrived at Saint Catherine’s Monastery on February 23, 1996. The almond trees were in bloom. Each February, when they bloom, it is a sign that I have been here yet another year.

A blessed anniversary! Many more!
Many years, Father. What a beautiful reminder of your anniversary.
Dear Father Justin,
Thank you for sharing these glimpses of life at Sinai.
Thanks a lot for the beautiful photographs.
Happy 29th anniversary of your arrival at St. Catherine’s! Is that you chanting on the previous blog post, “Sinai Sunrise”? It is strikingly beautiful, as are the almond blossoms.
Greek Orthodox chant has eight different tones. The intervals between notes vary with each tone, and this gives each tone its own unique colour. Father Symeon is a master at this. He is the chanter in this short video.
