In 2009, after the radiant Paschal services, there was a fine mist in the air, as if the monastery were in a light cloud. I went to the roof above the library and took photographs of the mountains that flank the ascent to the peak of Sinai, the moon and the stars indistinct behind the cloud. Many lights were on in the monastery below, which yet lay in silence.
Thank you, Father Justin, for sharing the photos, giving us a glimpse of life at St Catherine and the beauty of the Sinai. It is a joy to see the glory of God in such a holy ground.
