    Dear Father Justin,

    The picture is so interesting.

Are the Kelli passed from one person to another and do they date to a certain period of time. Do any of them date to the founding of the Monastery? Did the style of the various Kelli change as time has progressed?

    Your photographs are so remarkable.

Some kellia are in complete ruins. They must go back to the first centuries of monks here. I want to ask for the key to the kelli of Father Daniel, and see what is inside. This is all an adventure, and one that I try to share with my photographs.

Thank you for sharing all you do, Fr Justin.

Thank you for inspiring me with every photograph.

Is there no record, visual or written of what the kelli of Father Daniel contains?

‘Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.’ Nothing much has changed since the Shunammite woman created a small room for the Prophet Elisha. The next time I go there, I will take the key with me, and see what is inside.

  • How long has it been since Fr Daniel lived in this kelli?

    Dear Father Justin,
    It seems like a painting!
    Very beautiful.
