Father, When was the Chapel of the Holy Martyrs of Sinai and Raithou built? Was it built during the original construction of St. Catherines? Thank you!
It is an integral part of the sixth century basilica, the chapel at the southeast corner. But you can see a doorway in the east wall that was later blocked up, and there is much discussion about phases of construction and the original configuration of the Chapel of the Burning Bush, and the entry of pilgrims to this chapel.
