A Cell Along the Parapet

An ancient cell along the parapet of the north wall. Two turtle doves are perched at the right corner of the roof.

For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land. (Song of Solomon 2:11-12)

What is the spool-like device to the left of the cell?

Father John makes the tapers, the thin candles that are used for reading in the services, and for lighting the icon lamps. He wraps the wick around the frame, and then passes it through a pan of melted wax, after which it is again wrapped around the frame. The waxed wick is then cut into lengths for use in the church.

Do you mean the configuration of sticks to the left of the window looking at it? would a picture of the process be possible?
